So after I got back from Ibiza, I was exhausted. I am pretty sure my immune system is still sort of recovering from that week. Seriously that week was amazing. We try not to talk about it because we get into a whole "ahhh miss it so much" and it just spirals downwards. I was sick for like a week after and am still kind of getting over whatever cold type thing I got. A week of excessive drinking, dancing, sun, and not sleeping will do that to you.
I was actually suppose to travel three days after returning to Ibiza. I had bought my round trip ticket to Malaga, a city in Andalusia, and from there had plans to go to Granada. I ended up not taking the plane there because it was a Tuesday night and I didn´t want to miss another statistics quiz (that class is horrible.) so I modified my plans and was going to take an overnight bus to Granada on Wednesday.
So comes Wednesday night and I was starting to pack my bag and all of a sudden I realized, the mere idea of walking around a city I didn´t live in was the LAST thing I wanted to do. I know, you must be thinking I am like the biggest brat ever... but seriously, at that point I had only spent 3 FULL weekends in Valencia. THREE! That´s it! It´s true, this is my only chance to be able to do all this weekend trips all around Spain, but it´s also my ONLY chance to LIVE in Valencia and hang out with my friends here. I have traveled so much, almost every single weekenddd, and even traveling gets super tiring. I never thought it would be old, but traveling should be fun and if you´re not in the right mindset to do it, then you won´t enjoy it.
I was talking to Neva and Neal and Nate and was like, umm I am thinking of just skipping this trip all together and just hang out with you guys tonight. The round trip flight (thank god I didn´t buy the bus ticket beforehand-think that was my subconscious leaving a way out for me) was less than 20 euros so honestly, no pasa nada.
That weekend ended up being one of the BEST ones so far! I got to rest, went ot my classes, hung out with my friends, and EXPLORED VALENCIA! I seriously spent that entire weekend in the center by day with my best friends (Justina was visiting from Gandia) drinking coffees in random squares, people watching, painting with Neva and Fleur (Anne was in Holland for a wedding still- she left a day early from Ibiza :( ), I even went to mass in the main Cathedral, and of course there was some festival (Día de la Virgen) so there were parades and people dressed in traditional outfits. Then by night, going to pre parties and Mya (friday night) and then Las Animas (saturday night). Living in Valencia. I LIVE here. I have been living here since January and it was the first time it actually like sank in. I have been running all around Spain (and Italy)... it was about time I enjoyed my city :)

More pictures will come relax...
A few funny things that happened that weekend as far as going out...
So the terraces of the those two clubs had opened.. Friday night Justina and I were just running around the terrace of Mya.. it is SO pretty and so BIG! We pretended to be a lesbian couple so guys would leave us alone. Seriously, we would just be dancing and then two guys would try and separate Justina and I. I would be like, Umm this is my girlfriend.. Of course the boys would be like OH kiss! Glad everyone is mature. Then Justina would be like "Let´s get lost!" and then we would push through the crowd and find somewhere to chat and smoke... yes cigarettes I promise it´s not a permanent habit.. I blame Justina haha
Welcome to Mya |
Our walk back to my apartment though was really fun. So you can picture it: two girls dressed up in heels and skirts strolling down a main street. Would look like a walk of shame if I were still at tech except we hadn´t slept yet. We found a LIZARD!
LIZARD FRIEND |
I have seen the sunrise entirely too much the last few weekends... |
The second night we went to Animas. I somehowww got into the VIP area. Yeah I´m a boss. Got to hang out with a bunch of olddd guys. On the brightside, redbull and rum for me :)
The last week has been about the same. A lot of beach, some studying.... yuck two tests this upcoming Friday, go out, meet new people, hang out with Neva´s slovenian friends, start planning my travels in July, some roommates drama..., couchsurfers, clubs, bars, parties. My life in Valencia is incredible, even with all the real life problems.
It freaks me out that I have less than a month here. I will talk about that another time though.
Just wanted to update you all on what I have been up to.
besos :)
